The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a good choice if you're looking for a mid-range mop and robot vacuum. It's a great mopping capability, but it lacks certain of the more advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.
In the course of testing, it was able to handle dry oats and dust on carpets with medium piles and pet hair on hard floors. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't use LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.
1. IRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the most highly-rated robots. It is a powerful cleaner and plenty of features such as a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. This robot can recognize your habits for cleaning and recommend automatic schedules to provide you with a truly hands-free cleaning experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once the system is set up, you can start automatic cleaning with a single button. You can select the general clean option that focuses on the removal of larger particles like rice and cereal. Or you can choose two mappings to ensure that the entire home is cleaned thoroughly.
This vacuum works well on both floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It can pick up pet hair and also suck large items up. It doesn't lose suction as quickly as other robot vacuums. It has a difficult time with high-pile or plush carpet, but iRobot claims it will improve with the next models.
The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that concentrates on improving corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are standard however we found it only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with a superior filtration system, which prevents micro-sized particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. We like the statement however, it's not enough to justify a higher price.
Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to keep track of the layout of your home and vSLAM to map your interior of your home. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles like stairs and other barriers and also to clean your entire home in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundary markers so that the robot can determine the areas that require attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it comes to robots that combine vacuuming and mopping, the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those found on more expensive models. The mopping system is superior as its spinning pads clean your floors more efficiently than the vibrating pads.
The only downside is that it doesn't have an additional rubber brush to provide more thorough cleaning, but it's an acceptable cost to pay for if you want to get one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank also larger than many of its competitors and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the highest dirt level.
In terms of the mopping device, I was amazed with its ability to scrub off tough dirt from my floors. Its two lowest mopping settings which are less powerful than the high-powered ones, create little noise, so you can work or even watch TV without being distracted. It will gently bump into furniture or walls and move on if it comes across one.
The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The robo-vac has a multifunction dock that automatically transfers physical trash to the hidden bin, as well as washes and dry the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app is good at alerting you when something requires attention, like the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled cleaning session having been canceled because of a full dust bin.
You can also create or combine actual rooms to alter the way Q Revo treats your home. This is an excellent feature for those who have multiple areas of your home with different flooring materials or if there's clutter that needs to be cleared out frequently, such as toys, clothes, and books. The robo-vac was also one of the best performers in my tests and was able to remove debris from carpets and hardwood floors on the first go. It can even vacuum up wet spills, though I recommend cleaning them off using a clean cloth before bringing the robot in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a high-end robot vacuum and mop and more. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum that has powerful suction that cleans carpets and hard floors, plus the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough stains. It also has a self-cleaning base station that automatically empty and cleans the mop pads, keeping them clean and ready for use again. It also has a sensor system that recognizes obstacles better which allows it to avoid falling on furniture and other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS The X1 Deebot is the modern, sleeker design. This is thanks to Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. While still quite big--it's over two feet in height and depth and weighs in excess of four pounds--the entire robot and its base are less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
This version is also more efficient than the X1 one, because it charges faster and can handle a complete cleaning of about 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also comes with a larger and more robust dust bin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
Additionally, the X2 Omni has a more user-friendly app and voice assistant that operates offline, so you can use it even if you're not home. It also has a smart routing function that allows it to clean specific rooms or areas of your home instead of following a set path.
The X2 Omni is the top mopping robot. Its mop pads that rotate remove tough stains and its motor generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding as well and it enhances suction when it detects carpet to ensure it does the job well. It also has a huge battery that can last for weeks between charges, and its mopping mode is as efficient as any we've seen in the market for a consumer robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a high-end model that offers a number of features that aren't typically found on robots in this price range. It can create precise floor maps and recognize different types of flooring. It's also one of the only robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. While these features are useful, they also push the L10s Ultra into the luxury category and could mean it's slightly more expensive than what some homeowners need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It's tall and slim and has more info a white-colored finish accented with silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by a huge bumper, which helps protect the vacuum and furniture from damage when moving through the house. Behind the pane at the front is additional navigation technology in the form of sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button which acts as an on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. Clicking it again will turn it off and transmit it to its base station. The circular menu at the middle of the control panel lets you to choose cleaning modes, schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons beneath the screen will open the app's settings menu where you can tweak the way that the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination of cameras and LIDAR technology to map out your home. This allows the robot to vacuum and mop effectively without getting stuck. The LIDAR helps the robot vacuum avoid obstacles and recognize them and avoid them, which is a great feature for homes with pets or small children.
The L10s Ultra has a solid vacuuming capability that clears 98.4% of debris from our hard-floor test and removing all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops also do a great job and remove 98.4% debris from our carpet, tile, and wood tests. However, it wasn't as efficient in dealing with sand on the floor or quaker oats on the carpet.
